Think before you leap. While spontaneity is a wonderful quality to have, it doesn’t hurt to take a moment before making a big decision. When you’ve attained a certain level of experience in various parts of your life you can lean on that to make informed decisions, but even then it can be advantageous to consult a trusted person who you know will give you good counsel.
The Seven of Swords in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck (see image), depicts a man stealing off with four swords, while there are three already strapped to his back. According to old lore, this depicts the sorcererknight Maugis d’Aigremont who stole the swords of Charlemagne and his knights (source: Paul Huson, 2004).
So, apply what you’ve learned so far. Even if we have already attained a certain level of expertise in something we need to apply our skills to actual problems in order to advance.
