How Enthusiasm Helps Us Build Strength

The Seven of Wands

Today’s card is the Seven of Wands and it shows us the need for real and impactful experience in our lives, because it is only through experience that we become stronger than we were before. Resilience comes as a result of putting in all that hard work and effort and developing some calluses along the way.

Just remember that the more enthusiasm and even passion you can bring to the things you do, the more of an impact they’ll have on you as a person and as a part of the world at large.

P.S. If you’ve noticed that my daily card analysis has been getting shorter and shorter, that’s because I have a really bad cold and my head feels a bit fuzzy. Short and sweet is the way to go when you can hardly stand upright.

Intuition + Planning = Success

The Seven of Cups Tarot card

Have a plan.

It doesn’t have to be an elaborate plan, and you don’t have to refer back to it if you don’t want to, but going through the process of thinking about a situation, taking into account different variables and what you want to get at the end is going to affect you in ways you can’t imagine beforehand.

Especially creative people have a tendency to intuitively flow from project to project but even they can benefit from some structure. Don’t be afraid of working within boundaries that you yourself set, based on your aspirations and dreams in life.

Sort Yourself Out before You Hurt Loved Ones

The Knight of Cups

The Knight of Cups indicates a need to take action in the emotional realm. Whether it’s a relationship that’s in need of some deep communication, or your own inner conflicts that are affecting your emotional state in a non-optimal way, this is the time to do something about it.

When we feel off-kilter, sad, angry, frustrated, or irritated with loved ones— especially when they’ve done nothing wrong — then it’s a gift to ourselves to take some time out of our busy schedules and sort ourselves out.

When we harmonize our environments in this way we’re suddenly able to spread happiness and love where before there was only disappointment with the way things are at this point in our lives.

The Experiental Magic of The Seven of Swords

The Seven of Swords

Think before you leap. While spontaneity is a wonderful quality to have, it doesn’t hurt to take a moment before making a big decision. When you’ve attained a certain level of experience in various parts of your life you can lean on that to make informed decisions, but even then it can be advantageous to consult a trusted person who you know will give you good counsel.

The Seven of Swords in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck (see image), depicts a man stealing off with four swords, while there are three already strapped to his back. According to old lore, this depicts the sorcererknight Maugis d’Aigremont who stole the swords of Charlemagne and his knights (source: Paul Huson, 2004).

So, apply what you’ve learned so far. Even if we have already attained a certain level of expertise in something we need to apply our skills to actual problems in order to advance.

Let Go of Your Past Self

We often don’t want to let go of things. Even if the thing in question is holding us back.

We quickly and easily become accustomed to the way things are and doing anything new feels frightening and uncomfortable. But sacrificing who we used to be is the only way that allows us to embrace who we are becoming now. And one day the person who’s reading this text will also become a fragment of the past, and a new you will grow from that reality.

The Hanged Man symbolizes sacrifice, but also enlightenment and it is with this wisdom in mind that we can look at ourselves and our lives without fear or judgment of what we may find. You’re unique and despite being a part of this often polarizing society, you are free to blossom and grow and mature into a well-rounded human being.

Wishing you a lot of love, light, and happiness wherever you are as you’re reading this, and may your path forward be enlightened.

Let’s Live in the Light

“Spend some time in the Sun.”

There are so many ways to interpret that seemingly simple statement. Do we mean that we should connect more with nature? Or that we’re in need of the universe’s nurturing side as a balance to having spent so much time within our own inner darkness?

The Sun gives life and it brings with it a renewal of the earth that can nurture us too, if we let it. Don’t shy away from the initial discomfort of bright light in your metaphorical eyes, especially after having spent a long time hidden away in the shadows.

Just as the child rides on the horse’s back, and the sunflowers are in full bloom under the sun’s nurturing rays, so we too can open up to the life-changing energy that comes with living in the Light.

Walk Towards that Which Sets Your Soul on Fire

We need to be passionate about our lives and not sleepwalk through our best years.

The Three of Wands is a card of creativity and enthusiasm. It reminds us to remain hopeful and walk toward that which sets our souls on fire.

People may look at you and think to themselves: ‘That person doesn’t understand the realities of life. Look how carefree and naive they are.’ But your reality is your own and you create and recreate yourself anew every day.

Every morning is thus a new beginning and a new chance to say YES to what the world has to offer. Don’t hesitate to act when you feel that sense of urgency stirring within your heart. You were put on this Earth for a reason and you might as well follow your intuition to find out what that reason is.
